Position overview:

Reporting to the Inside Sales Manager, the Inside Sales Representative serves as the primary point of contact between the company and its customers. They handle price inquiries, prepare quotes, and manage order entry and follow-up, coordinating with the production, purchasing, and logistics teams to deliver exemplary customer service.

Key responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer inquiries (phone, email) regarding steel products, availability, pricing, and delivery times.
  • Prepare, submit, and follow up on quotes and price offers.
  • Enter orders into the ERP system and ensure their accuracy (product, quantity, price, dimensions, deadlines).
  • Coordinate with the production, purchasing, shipping, and transportation departments to ensure that commitments made to customers are met.
  • Proactively follow up on open orders and inform customers of any changes.
  • Handle claims, returns, and credit requests, and escalate complex cases to the appropriate parties.
  • Develop and maintain lasting business relationships with existing customers.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities and support the outside sales representative(s).
  • Keep customer records, negotiated pricing, and history up to date in the system.
  • Stay current on the steel product line, technical specifications, and market conditions.

Requirements:

  • College diploma or equivalent experience in sales, administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in inside sales or customer service, ideally in the steel industry, or at minimum in an industrial, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
  • Bilingualism essential (French and English), spoken and written — the position requires regular communication with English-speaking customers and partners outside Quebec.
  • Knowledge of steel products (tubes, pipes, etc.) considered an important asset.
  • Proficiency with computer tools (Microsoft Office suite) and comfort with an ERP system.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications (an asset).

Working Conditions
  • On-site presence required every day at 6001 Irwin Street. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
  • Dynamic office environment, close to production and warehousing operations.
