Position overview:

We are seeking a dynamic candidate to join our Bowling Green, Kentucky location as a Roll Mill Operator on 2nd shift.

The ideal candidate would have experience in working in an ever-changing, fast-moving, and evolving environment. Candidates who have worked within a manufacturing/distribution environment are highly preferred.

 

 

Key responsibilities:

This position supports the roll mill team as part of the overall departmental teamwork initiative.

  • Leads the roll mill team to achieve the goals and objectives for quality, productivity while providing ideas for continuous improvement and resolving problems.
  • Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
  • Works with Maintenance Manager to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks.
  • Assesses roll mill systems to plan work assignments.
  • Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience.
  • Execute roll mill training and standardize processes.
  • Attending meetings to understand the operational needs of the plant.
  • Performs administrative responsibilities for the roll mill team members such as time and attendance system, performance reviews, etc.
  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
  • Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments.
  • Inspects work performed by team members.
  • Tracks and logs work time, materials, and other resources used for inventory purposes.
  • Works with Supervisors and Logistics to coordinate machine repair needs.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Requirements:

  • Roll Mill or high-volume manufacturing experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of tool and die and weld processes.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate when appropriate.
  • Ability to operate overhead crane.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational skills are required.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team orientated environment.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations.
